A cortado (from the Spanish word cortar, 'to cut') is an espresso cut with a small amount of warm milk. The brand identity created for the this restaurant, café and bar references these Spanish origins by way of symbols, colour palette and typography.
The identity plays on an arrangement of three typographic characters and glyphs derived from the brand identity typeface – a coffee bean, a cup and a plate – that when assembled in different ways become their own unique marques; a bulls head, a lobster, a wine glass and tableware.
